And that is what the banner. My grandma loves the things I draw for her and every year I go to Japan, she pays for basically everything. Without her, I wouldn't be able to visit Japan basically every year. Even though there's a language barrier, I try to do whatever I can for her. As the end of my trip this year was coming to an end, I was sitting one night in my room while my mom was asleep thinking about what I should draw for her and this idea came to mind. I was going to make it more elaborate, but I just didn't have enough time sadly. Where did the inspiration come from? Well, while I was in Japan, I was able to celebrate a festival called Tanabata (if you're interested, here's some more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanabata…
, so I decided that I would love to wear the kimono she had for me. We went to this traditional Japanese garden near Nara and went to this little festival there. (Photos here if you're interested: plus.google.com/u/0/photos/116…
I basically just drew myself in the kimono I wore (and let me say that coloring it was a pain in the butt
) and just some other Tanabata and Japanese like things.
Although it's not as detailed as I was hoping for, when this was all done, I was really happy with the result. This is probably one of my best traditional drawings. ^^
